Dr. Slack demonstrates a profound understanding of pain, drawing from his own experiences. I have been a patient of Dr. Slack's for over 12 years, and I consistently appreciate his concise explanations and comprehensive knowledge of human anatomy. Throughout this period, he has identified previously undiagnosed conditions within my body. For instance, he accurately identified severe hip issues, leading to X-rays that confirmed extreme arthritis and the necessity for hip replacements. While this falls outside his primary scope of practice, Dr. Slack proactively identified this critical health concern. His core expertise lies in pain management, and I consider myself fortunate that he discovered this for me. This diagnoses led to his ability to help my lower back much easier. Without Dr Slack I would be completely bed ridden, he has given me much needed help with my severe back pain.

Dr Slack is a great listener. He took the time to understand my lengthy medical history & surgical complications and offered many options to help me manage my conditions. He tailored his recommendations to what I had described as my limitations for types of care. In addition, he has been very quick to respond to mychart questions and reviewed my MRI images to verify accuracy of the radiology read since it was in question & he provided a summary in detail regarding his findings which I appreciate very much. I was not the most emotionally composed patient during my appointment and Dr. Slack was not judgmental and offered support and resources to help me get through it and still get the info he needed to help manage my care. He is one of three doctors in my (long) lifetime that I can honestly say understands what it means to provide compassionate care, to have a good bedside manner, and to be thorough. He took the time that I needed to share my medical history & concerns & to build recommendations for a treatment plan. He gained my trust and respect because of how he cared for me and how he continues to follow through via mychart with what he said he would do...always in a timely manner. He is a great example of a medical professional. I am grateful that I was referred to him.
